El Condesito (cement carrier wreck)
Remains of a 42 m cement carrier that ran onto the rocks near Punta Rasca on Christmas Eve 1975, about 18 minutes from the port. The iron hull is badly deteriorated, so penetrating the hull or cargo hold is not safe, but part of the cement sacks of its cargo can still be seen. The surrounding rocks form huge basalt columns, and further out are sand banks ringed by urchin barrens. The wreck shelters large trumpetfish, red mullet, scorpionfish, barracuda and octopus.
