Amphitheatre Bay (Latchi)
Amphitheatre Bay near Latchi was an old quarry in Roman times; sea currents have since carved the rock into a formation resembling an amphitheatre. There are three underwater bays, each with a mini wall, and slabs of quarry stone now shelter small fish while seagrass patches hold flounder, nudibranchs, sea cucumbers and sea stars. Turtles and octopus are sometimes seen. Visit Cyprus lists shore and boat access, a maximum of 18 m and an Open Water requirement, and warns not to confuse it with the Amphitheatre at Coral Bay.
