Vera K Wreck

The Vera K was a Lebanese freighter that ran aground off Paphos in 1972; the Cypriot and British military used her for target practice and she was blown up in 1974 as a hazard to shipping. She now lies in four main sections inside the crater left by the explosion at about 11–12 m, with the bridge still fairly intact. The crater rim is only 5–7 m deep, so it is good for snorkellers and new divers. Two large archways and narrow tunnels give experienced divers something to explore, and groupers, octopus and moray eels live in the wreck. It is about 15 minutes by boat from Paphos harbour.

depth: 5–12 m
