Kal's Dream
Kal's Dream is a pair of submerged pinnacles off the north-west tip of Kepa, named after the author Kal Muller. The northern current slams straight into the rocks, so on many days the site is simply undiveable, and the flow can turn up, down and sideways during a dive. When the timing is right, the corals are low but dense, anthias swarm over the tops and schools of barracuda, batfish and fusiliers gather on the ridges. Dogtooth tuna, trevally, Napoleon wrasse and sweetlips patrol the spur, and early-morning dives occasionally bring hammerhead sharks.
