Crystal Rock

Crystal Rock is a rock off the north side of Gili Lawa Laut that just breaks the surface at low tide, with a second mound and a saddle at about 20 m. Soft corals in gold and orange cover the rock, schools of fusiliers and anthias swarm the top, and trevally, Napoleon wrasse, groupers and sometimes sharks and eagle rays pass in the current. A group of Oriental sweetlips lives in a small valley, plate corals around 17 m shelter young whitetip reef sharks, and pygmy seahorses live on the sea fans. It is a little calmer than nearby Castle Rock.
