Manta Alley
Manta Alley is a chain of rocky islets in a bay on the south coast of Komodo Island and the main place in the park for manta rays, often ten or more and sometimes dozens in the season. Divers usually start at a submerged mound east of the rocks and pass through 18 m deep channels between the islets, where bumphead parrotfish and mantas circle; giant trevally, reef sharks, large fantail rays, snapper schools and barracuda are also common. The water is cold and plankton-rich.
