Three Sisters
Three Sisters off the south-east coast of Padar are three large pinnacles joined by ridges, rising from sand at about 30 m to within a few metres of the surface, with a lesser-visited fourth pinnacle further south. Cold upwelling keeps them covered in soft corals, tunicates and sponges. Pygmy seahorses, frogfish, leaf scorpionfish and many nudibranchs live on the rock, while trevally, jacks and surgeonfish patrol, whitetip reef sharks rest on the sand and eagle rays, barracuda and sometimes mobula rays pass in the blue.
