Sahaung

Sahaung is Bangka's signature site: a series of boulders and pinnacles off Bangka that barely break the surface and step down in giant shelves to about 35 m. Orange soft corals, sponges and sea fans cover everything, snappers, surgeonfish, fusiliers and triggerfish form a 'fish soup', and whitetip reef sharks rest under large table corals. Pygmy seahorses (including the tiny Pontohi), glassfish, giant trevally and the odd eagle ray complete the picture.
