The Zoo
The Zoo is a patch reef in a horseshoe-shaped, sandy bay near the resort, with shallow flats sloping down over fields of staghorn, plate and potato corals. It is named for the variety of its residents and is a classic macro site: frogfish, ornate ghost pipefish, leaf scorpionfish, mantis shrimp, octopus, cuttlefish and pygmy seahorses are reported, along with blue trevally, sweetlips and goatfish at cleaning stations. At dusk, mandarinfish court among the rubble and staghorn coral.
