Shoun Maru
Japanese military cargo ship over 100 m long that sank in Sasanhaya Bay after attack by aircraft from USS White Plains on 23 June 1944; she rests on white sand with a large colony of garden eels nearby, maximum depth about 33 m. It lies inside the Sasanhaya Bay Fish Reserve, where damaging the wrecks is prohibited by local law. Diveable year-round but spring tides can bring strong current.
