Mayan Blue (Cenote Escondido)
Mayan Blue, the cave-diving name for Cenote Escondido, lies across the highway from Cenote Cristal just south of Tulum and is the second main entrance to Sistema Naranjal. Several cave entrances and many lines start here. After darker freshwater sections, passages drop through the halocline into wide, blue saltwater tunnels with white walls, such as the Yaxbe passage. ProTec gives average depths of 14–19 m and describes it as a great place to experience the halocline.
