Emily Flying Boat (Kawanishi H8K)
A Kawanishi H8K 'Emily' flying boat sunk at its mooring several hundred yards south-west of the Dublon (Tonoas) seaplane base. It lies upside down in about 15 m of water, in three sections, and is deteriorating; the instrument panel and wires lie on the sand and debris blocks the fuselage entrance. The operator tells of an Emily that flew the Fourth Fleet commander to Rabaul and returned damaged.
