Kansho Maru
Passenger-cargo ship (about 4,860 t, 384 ft, built 1938), towed to Truk after bomb damage and sunk in the repair anchorage by bombs and an aerial torpedo during Hailstone (dive3d and the operator give 17–18 Feb 1944; Pacific Wrecks lists the Kensho Maru as sunk on 30 April 1944). 'Kansho' and 'Kensho' are two spellings of the same ship: tonnage and length agree across Thorfinn, Pacific Wrecks and dive3d. Upright on about 36–40 m with a port list, she has a superb engine room and three levels of workshops, a captain's cabin, radio gear in the wheelhouse and beer and sake bottles below deck.
