Sankisan Maru
Medium freighter (4,752 t) anchored off Uman with a hold full of ammunition; on 17 Feb 1944 a fire set off a huge explosion that blew the stern away. The bow section is largely intact and draped in hard and soft corals with a mast reaching the surface; one hold is half full of machine-gun and rifle rounds, and others hold truck frames, aircraft engines and propellers. The stern lies in a crater at about 49 m. An easy, popular dive.
