Sagewin Island
Sagewin Island lies in the Sagewin (Pitt) Strait between Batanta and Salawati, a protected area for cetaceans. It is one of the strait's muck sites, with dark sandy slopes that hold frogfish, cuttlefish and blue-ringed octopus. Currents in the strait can be very strong and conditions rough.
