Piran Punta
The tip of the Piran peninsula is a protected underwater natural monument and one of the liveliest spots in the Slovenian sea. A rocky wall drops from a few metres to about 14 m on the southern side, while the northern side slopes down to around 22 m (one centre quotes up to 25 m), so beginners and experienced divers both find their depth. The rocks shelter scorpionfish, octopus, crabs, lobsters and conger eels, with mullet and sea bream above, and the site is a favourite with underwater photographers. Dives can also be run as gentle drifts along the point.
