King Kong Rock
A quiet site of large coral-covered granite boulders on the south-east coast of Koh Tao, between Aow Leuk and Lang Khaai Bay. The rocks form gullies, overhangs and swim-throughs reaching from a few metres below the surface to about 18–22 m, with sea whips, fusiliers, snapper, groupers and moray eels; the sheltered cracks are good for nudibranchs and pipefish. Few boats visit it, and according to a local school it is named after the island's first Thai divemaster rather than the rock's shape.
