King Cruiser Wreck

The King Cruiser was an 85 m car and passenger ferry that strayed off course on 4 May 1997 between Phuket and Phi Phi, struck Anemone Reef and sank without loss of life. It sits upright on sand at about 32 m, with the highest parts around 12–20 m. Decks have collapsed since 2003 and the wreck is now largely broken and unsafe to penetrate, but it is a magnet for fish: huge schools of snappers, barracuda, fusiliers, rabbitfish, trevally and mackerel, plus big lionfish and scorpionfish around the propellers and rear deck.

depth: 12–32 m
