Deep Six

Deep Six is a V-shaped ridge of huge granite boulders off the northern tip of Ko Payu, starting at about 5 m and dropping beyond 35–40 m. Swim-throughs around 10–20 m are a highlight. Fusilier schools attract giant and bluefin trevally and sometimes dogtooth tuna, while whitetip reef sharks and leopard sharks are seen deeper. The shallows were damaged in the 2004 tsunami, so the best part is the deeper northern section.
