Varese
The Italian merchant steamer Varese was carrying cargo from Trieste to Tunisia in 1915 when a storm drove it to seek shelter in Pula. On the approach it struck a mine that destroyed the bow, and it sank where it lies today, off Pula at 33–42 m. The 60 m hull is wide and can be safely penetrated along its whole length.
