Po Wreck
The Italian hospital ship Po, built as the Austrian liner Wien, was torpedoed by a British Swordfish aircraft while at anchor in the Bay of Vlorë on the night of 14 March 1941 and sank within minutes. The roughly 135 m hull lies at about 33–37 m with the deck from about 16 m, inside the Karaburun-Sazan marine protected area. It has become an artificial reef with groupers, and invasive lionfish have also arrived.
