Coral Castles
Coral Castles is on the northern part of Osprey Reef's western side, with the mooring on a bommie at about 15 m. Current is unlikely but, if present, comes from one direction; divers head south at about 30 to 32 m, then turn and come back at about 20 m past the coral formations that give the site its name. McFadyen's page lists wobbegong sharks among the residents. Located in the Coral Sea Marine Park (Australian Marine Parks); Parks Australia notes Osprey Reef is for experienced divers and is protected from fishing. Liveaboard guests need no personal permit (operators are authorised); confirm zoning and rules on the official Coral Sea maps.
