G Spot
G Spot is a very small reef south of St Crispin Reef, west of Opal Reef and east of Rudder Reef, about 53 km north-east of Port Douglas. The reef is only about 50 by 25 m on top and 150 m square at the base, and it has no mooring, so boats anchor on the sand to the east in about 25 m. Large gorgonias, some almost 2 m across, are concentrated on the eastern side between 10 and 20 m. Visibility was about 25 m and water about 26 degrees C in October. Located in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park: Green (no-take) zones allow diving without a permit, but fishing and collecting are prohibited; tourism operators hold the park permits and the environmental management charge is passed on through the operator. Check the current zoning map before any non-operator visit.
