Tracey's Wonderland
Tracey's Wonderland is between Ribbon Reefs No. 2 and 3, inside the entrance and about 1.6 km south-west of Steve's Bommie. A reef wall running roughly north-south is built from small and large bommies from 2 to 6 m, with a sandy slope to about 25 and then 30 m. Between 6 and 15 m there are many bommies. The mooring is at about 5 m on the main reef; divers drop to the sand and follow the reef north or south depending on current, with no need to go deeper than about 25 m. Located in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park: Green (no-take) zones allow diving without a permit, but fishing and collecting are prohibited; tourism operators hold the park permits and the environmental management charge is passed on through the operator. Check the current zoning map before any non-operator visit.
