Twin Peaks (Saxon Reef)
Twin Peaks is a Saxon Reef site off Cairns, listed by Divers Den among Saxon's sites and described by the Tropical North Queensland listing as two huge coral bommies rising from about 18 m to almost the surface. The position is an operator-logged survey point and so is approximate. Saxon Reef is also a night-dive stop with reef sharks. Located in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park: Green (no-take) zones allow diving without a permit, but fishing and collecting are prohibited; tourism operators hold the park permits and the environmental management charge is passed on through the operator. Check the current zoning map before any non-operator visit.
