Tasman Hauler wreck (Eden)
The Tasman Hauler is a 42 m former firefighting and support tug, built in 1959, wrecked on rocks in Twofold Bay on 6 July 1988 and scuttled by an Eden dive operator on 1 October 1988 as an artificial reef, a short boat ride south of Eden near Red Point. She stands largely intact with a slight starboard list: mast top at about 15 m, bridge about 20 m, main deck 23–26 m, engine hold about 28 m and sand just over 30 m. Highlights are a 3 m propeller, an eight-cylinder diesel in the engine room, a bridge covered in jewel anemones and schools of yellowtail kingfish. Visibility is usually very good.
