HMVS Cerberus wreck, Black Rock (100 m exclusion zone – diving status unverified)
Restricted heritage wreck: a 100 m exclusion zone was placed around the HMVS Cerberus after a 1993 structural collapse, and the wreck is on the Australian National Heritage List and Victorian Heritage Register (S117); whether diving is currently permitted is not confirmed here. The ironclad monitor was scuttled as a breakwater off Half Moon Bay, Black Rock, in 1926 and lies in about 3 m of water, less than 200 m from shore; it was once a popular scuba site. Its four main guns were removed in 2004 and placed on the seabed beside the wreck.
