Lonsdale Wall – Foggy Reef (Marine National Park)

Port Phillip Heads Marine National Park (highly protected no-take zone: no fishing, no collecting). Foggy Reef is the southern end of Lonsdale Wall, a slack-water flood dive where the top of the reef is only 8 m and the edge drops into about 25 m to the north-east. All sections of the wall are heavily encrusted with soft coral, gorgonians and sponges, and an old anchor and two cannons lie near Outer Lonsdale Reef to the west. It is a boat dive for experienced divers who must keep weather and tide in their plan and have an exit strategy.
