Nepean Reef – SS Time & Campbell wreck remains (Marine National Park)
Port Phillip Heads Marine National Park (highly protected no-take zone: no fishing, no collecting). Nepean Reef is one of the most demanding dive sites at the Heads: strictly a boat and slack-water dive, where slack can last only minutes or over 30 minutes. The wreck remains of the SS Time, dominated by two huge boilers lying around and over the reef, and of the Campbell, mainly north of Campbell Rock, offer photo opportunities. It is very dynamic and susceptible to severe wind and weather changes, suitable only for experienced Open Water and Advanced divers with an exit strategy for divers and boat.
