Second Valley Jetty & Lassiters Reef
Shallow shore dive (maximum about 10 m) from the beach or jetty at Second Valley on the Fleurieu Peninsula, known for leafy sea dragons, sometimes found within minutes near the jetty and in the area between the jetty and the headland. Lassiters Reef about 300 m offshore can be reached on calm days, and a small bommie about 20 m from shore is reported to hold both leafy and weedy sea dragons. Round the headland the drop-off leads to caves and overhangs with blue devilfish, rays and schools of fish. The bay faces north, so southerly and easterly (offshore) winds are best.
