SS Macedon wreck, Rottnest (protected)
Protected historic wreck (Historic Shipwrecks Act 1976 and the WA Maritime Archaeology Act): look and photograph, never touch, move or remove anything. The SS Macedon was an iron screw steamer that struck Transit Reef in Thomson Bay in 1883; the middle of her hull is still intact up to the main deck in 3–6 m of water. The article calls it one of the most visited wrecks in Australia, and it is part of the Rottnest Wreck Trail. The Denton Holme lies almost on top of it.
