Canhões de Entre Montes (Cannons)
A sheltered bay close to Baía de Entre Montes, about 5 minutes by boat from Horta harbour. Around three large rocks on a sandy bottom lie several cannons and other centuries-old pieces removed from Horta bay by archaeologists and placed here to preserve them; they and the rocks form a habitat with Azores chromis, morays, red scorpionfish, mottled seahares in summer and stingrays and flounders on the sand.
