Cabeços do Ilhéu
A deep coastal reef less than a mile from the Vila Franca islet; the top lies at about 25 m, covered in black coral (Antipathes wollastoni), and the edge drops to about 45 m. Large dusky groupers and barred hogfish are regular, schools of almaco jack and barracuda work the edge, and devil rays (Mobula tarapacana) visit in summer.
