Theo's Wreck
A 70 m former cement carrier (MV Island Cement, ex-Logna) scuttled by UNEXSO on 16 October 1982 as the first ship in the Bahamas sunk on purpose as an artificial reef, about 2.5 km off the south coast west of Silver Point. She lies on her port side on the edge of the Gulf Stream shelf with the shallowest part at about 18 m and the bottom around 30 m. Heavily overgrown, with Caribbean reef sharks, large groupers, jacks and turtles; looking into the deep side can feel like an abyss.
