Los Jameos del Agua / Túnel de la Atlántida (DIVING BANNED)
Diving is banned at Los Jameos del Agua and in the Túnel de la Atlántida: recreational and sports diving, bathing and military manoeuvres are prohibited in this protected site of scientific interest; only scientific research and filming for informative purposes are allowed. The submerged part of the lava tube is about 1.5 km long and is home to the endemic blind crab (jameito). In May 2024 Lanzarote's Cabildo environment department even refused a Spanish Navy request to dive there. Listed only as a protected, off-limits cave. Position is the Jameos pool, not a dive entry.
