El Faro (Fuencaliente lighthouse)
By the salt pans and the lighthouse at the southern tip of La Palma: an easy beach entry into a rocky, lively bay where beginners see a lot even in shallow water, while more experienced divers can go further out to a cave and deeper. Black basalt terraces, caves and drop-offs hold octopus, nudibranchs and cleaner shrimp, with amberjacks and stingrays in open water. The southern point can have strong currents.
