Aphrodite's Rock & Aphrodite Island
Near Latchi, a large volcanic rock emerging from the sea marks Aphrodite's Rock, with colourful stones, a Posidonia meadow and turtles in the mating season; the adjacent Aphrodite Island has a shallow cove for a walk-in entry, small swim-through canyons and nooks full of marine life. Visit Cyprus rates both dives as easy and safe, with crystal clear water, a sandy and rocky bottom and depths of 12 m (rock) and 18 m (island). The rock is especially suitable for night dives, and you may see grouper, moray eels, stingrays, squid, octopus and wrasse.
