Lom Šošůvka
A small, shallow flooded quarry in the village of Šošůvka in the Moravian Karst, about 30 km from Brno, cut into Culm greywacke and shale. Depth varies from year to year; reports range from about 4 to 8 m. In 2020 the ALKYON diving club cleaned it and placed underwater attractions and navigation arrows; machinery wrecks lie on the bottom and walls. Water is fairly clear with sediment on the floor. According to the Moravian Karst protected area authority it is the only place in the area outside reserves where diving is allowed.
