Daedalus Reef
A lone offshore reef some 80 km from Marsa Alam, about 450 m long and marked by a 19th-century lighthouse, rising from depths of several hundred metres. The exposed north tip is renowned for schooling scalloped hammerheads, oceanic whitetips cruise the reef, and the walls are thick with soft corals and sea fans; on the south side a shallow patch called Anemone City is packed with anemonefish.
