USS Susan B. Anthony
Former passenger liner Santa Clara (1930), chartered by the US Navy and renamed. On 7 June 1944, carrying soldiers of the 90th Infantry Division towards Utah Beach, she hit a mine and sank about 10 miles off the coast; all 2,689 people aboard were saved. Sources give 21–30 m for the wreck, which lies on its starboard side; the bow with its gun is the best-preserved part.
