Scandola Nature Reserve (TILOS / no diving)
Diving with breathing apparatus is prohibited. The marine part of the Scandola Nature Reserve – the Scandola peninsula around Punta Palazzu and the Elpa Nera cove near Galeria – has been protected since 1975 and is part of the Gulf of Porto UNESCO World Heritage site; scuba diving, fishing and anchoring are banned there, and a 2025 draft revision of the reserve adds a no-access integral zone and seasonal closures. It is listed here so divers know it is off limits; dive centres in Galeria and Porto dive outside the reserve boundary.
