Mynden wreck (Kap Arkona, Rügen)
In 1718 the small Danish frigate Mynden, escorting a merchant convoy, ran onto the chalk reef off Kap Arkona at the northern tip of Rügen. Her remains, including surviving cannons, now lie in about 12 m in the Tromper Wiek area and are one of the highlights of the state underwater archaeology association's guided trips. A photogrammetric 3D model of the site can also be explored online.
