Geiseltalsee – Unterwasserwald (boat dives)
From the Frankleben base a boat takes divers 5–15 minutes out to sites that cannot be reached comfortably from shore. The 'Großer Wald' is a drowned forest about 3 km long, with trees and roots, weeping willows, canyons and steep walls down to 25 m. Other targets are a dense pole-wood forest, an old power pylon at 18 m and a 16–25 m drop-off edge with mining remains. Catfish, pike and carp live among the trees.
