Steinbruch Wildschütz
The quarry at Wildschütz (Mockrehna, northern Saxony) is one of the deepest diving lakes in central Germany, reportedly over 70 m, though diver reports give an official limit of 40 m. Steep walls dominate, and the owner-run base has placed objects such as a Trabant, a kiosk, a phone booth, a motorcycle, a rail car and a homemade aircraft at about 20 m. Pike, perch, carp and crayfish live in the shallows. Visibility ranges from near zero after heavy rain to about 25 m.
