Pintu Kota
A headland on Ambon's south coast honeycombed with arches above and below the water — hence 'Gate of the City'. Underwater a large archway at about 17 m is hung with colourful soft corals, and the surrounding wall, dropping past 30 m, carries sea fans, black coral and huge barrel sponges. Fusiliers, bannerfish and surgeonfish feed along the wall; morays, lobsters and nudibranchs fill the cracks, and tuna or barracuda sometimes pass.
