Gili Sarang
Gili Sarang is a steep rock island rising almost 90 m out of the sea at the mouth of Belongas Bay. Around it are sloping reefs, walls and boulders with leather and soft corals, sponges and lots of reef life – nudibranchs, crabs, clownfish, moray eels, scorpionfish and glassfish. Whitetip reef sharks, tuna and rays visit, and from about August to October the site lies on a mobula ray migration route with sometimes dozens of rays.
