Back Faru
An outer reef on the north-east of Farukolhufushi, about an hour from Malé, sheltered in the south-west monsoon and little affected by current. The reef top is shallow and slopes gradually, with large coral blocks where surgeonfish feed; turtles, eagle rays, dogtooth tuna and whitetip reef sharks are seen, and nurse sharks rest under overhangs at depth.
