Miyaru Kandu
'Shark Channel' in Dhivehi: a pass on the north-eastern side of Vaavu near Alimatha, lined on both sides with small caves and overhangs. Large rocks covered in soft coral fill the southern side, and a cave at about 33 m on the north side is a good spot for grey reef sharks. Whitetip reef sharks, tuna and napoleon wrasse are regulars, and manta rays can appear on outgoing current in the wet season.
