Obyan Beach
A shore or boat site near Naftan Point and the airport with a patch reef full of small fish, a white sand floor and visibility often 10–18 m or more. Divers enter through a natural cut in the reef using a rope; a second reef starts at about 15 m with barracuda and sharks. Used for training and photography. Undetonated WWII ordnance is reported near the beach (including by a Japanese pillbox): never touch suspicious objects. Snorkellers should stay inside the lagoon because the cuts have strong rip tides.
