Kankirixché
Semi-open cavern cenote near Mucuyché (Abalá), about an hour south of Mérida, reached by a 15 m metal staircase into a chamber about 90 m across. Stalactites and hanging tree roots frame clear water that drops to around 50 m, with underwater galleries leading off. Showcaves places the halocline at about 50 m – too deep for normal recreational dives. It is one of the most frequently dived cenotes in the Mérida area.
